Torque Calibration Service

Michelli Weighing & Measurement can perform your standard torque calibration, or ISO 17025 accredited torque calibration. Our torque experts perform a wide range of services, including torque wrench calibration, bolting tool calibration & torque equipment repairs.

What is torque measurement?

Torque is a rotating force. (Rotation could refer to either turning or twisting.) Torque tools, which produce turning or twisting force, are utilized in a great number of applications. Torque measurement determines the effectiveness of the force being applied by a torque tool. During torque calibration, the Michelli Weighing & Measurement service team confirms that the amount of force being indicated by a torque tool is the actual amount of force being produced by the tool to ensure that users don’t under-torque or over-torque during use.

What does torque calibration entail?

During torque tool calibration, the Michelli Weighing & Measurement technicians compare your torque tool to a standard, traceable torque tool. This comparison is performed to ensure that the level of torque produced by your torque tool at different in-oz or ft-lb matches the amount produced by the certified standard torque tool at the same levels.

If the amount of torque applied by your torque tool at different intervals does not match the amount of torque applied by the certified standard at the same intervals, your torque tool will be adjusted to match the standard. Upon completion, the amount of torque you set the torque tool to apply will actually be the amount of torque produced by the tool during use.
